ADSL BroadBand in Metropolitan Perth and some WA Regional Areas:

Eon Technology has introduced this access to those wanting more from their Internet experience.

Disclaimer:
We can guarantee the speed that you opt for, from your site to the exchange only, however we cannot control what the internet traffic and loads will be at any given time, it is dynamic and ever-changing, so we are not responsible for any lag that may occur when you use our ADSL connection.

What is it?
There are several combinations of speeds available for ADSL. You need to make an application for the type of bandwidth that you require, we organise to get your Telstra phone line to be terminated to the ADSL network (if your number qualifies to be compatible for ADSL use) and within 5-10 working days we can send our technical staff (additional costs are involved for this) to your site to install a line filter (this then allows you to make telephone calls whilst still connected to the internet) and also configure your computer to stay connected to the internet. Your ADSL connection is a permanent one, so no more dialing in and disconnecting in order to get on to the internet.
Charges involved for implementing ADSL Broadband (Minimum contract is 9 months):
  • Establishment (once-off) for new sign-ons
$175 includes one line filter. Additional line filters are charged according to customer needs. This allows you to use the internet and phone at the same time using one line.
  • Setup cost (on-site): Varies and quote provided prior to installation.
The ADSL service is a 24/7 permanent connection so you don't need to dial in to get onto the internet!
  • Establishment cost (once-off) for exisitng ADSL users from other networks
$120 - You would already have the necessary line-filters and ADSL modem from your previous connection with the other ISP.
  • Disconnection Fee (if contract is terminated before full term)
$110 plus the balance of the term of the contract.
  • ADSL Modem or Router
    Please call for current pricings

How long for the installation of the ADSL service?

Installation will take approximately 5-10 working days after application is approved for connection.
As ADSL availability is not for every area, it is best to check with us first when you are interested. Generally speaking, if you are able to obtain ADSL service from Telstra in your area, then it will be also OK with EON, though it is still subject to aphysical check and final approval.

You may also have us pre-certify your connectivity - this involves an actual physical copper line check from your home to the telephone exchange (non-refundable cost of $20) and guarantees whether you can use ADSL or not for certain

Our technician can visit your site and complete the connection and routing issues for your connection and ensure that it is connected on the ADSL service - this separate cost is quoted before any installation work is carried out and to be paid upon completion of the on-site installation.

Reasonable Use Policy:

We do not have a "hard limit" monthly meggage for incoming data (with the exception of the Club75 Account and ADSL Account) - what this means is that we set a "soft limit" for each particular account type, you use whatever you want during the month, and if you exceed the "soft limit" before the end of the month, we advise you via email that your usage has passed that limit.

When this happens, we will either slow your connection to us whenever you get online thereafter OR restrict your access to only EON hosted domains which might mean that you will not be able to get outside of EON's network but will be able to send or receive your emails. This will last until the end of the month when the counter is reset and a new cycle begins.

It means that if the "soft limit" is exceeded by a greater amount, then the restriction imposed will be greater. By this method of resource sharing, our Reasonable Use Policy hopefully will reduce your cost of internet access without the penalty of fear of being charged extra when you occasionally exceed the limit.

DOV accounts have a guaranteed minimum connection time of 6 hours, no disconnection during off-peak hours and after the 6 hours of online time, disconnections may occur ONLY because ALL DOV lines are FULL. For a preview as to what DOV can do for you click here for more information.

ADSL connected customers will have to pay for excess meggage after exceeding their scale of free downloads provided in the monthly access fees that they pay. Any excess meggage incurred will be due immediately at end of each month and must be paid in full within seven days. Otherwise the connection may be disabled, because we do not provide credit on any excess meggage charges. All ADSL connected customers accept and agree that EON can ONLY guarantee the speed that they opt for, from the exchange to their site only, because EON cannot control the internet traffic and loading that occurs dynamically with the internet and other networks external to EON's domain and which is outside it's control.

For ADSL customers, the members will be able to utilise at any given time the bandwidth up to a reasonable 60% utilisation for downloads so that we can freely allow ALL users to actively download during the course of the day rather than have impositions of peaks/off-peaks periods for downloading activities. As such it will be deemed to be based on a "user-decide basis" until such time when the network loading suffers and begins to affect all other users. At such times, EON reserves the right to throttle back the bandwidth of the particular member causing the overload to only 64K/64K until it deems fit to release that particular member from such bandwidth throttling.

EON Technology reserves the right to withdraw this policy at its own discretion without prior consultation.
