How to choose the right plan
Having decided on the right service for you business, you need to choose a plan that meets your business needs. However, if you find you need more data, just update your plan. It's as easy as that.

Your choice of broadband plan will be based on 5 main criteria:
- Availability - what services are available to your phone
- Speed - how fast your internet connection is
- Data quota - how much data you download per month
- Excess - what happens when you reach your traffic quota
- Service Level - what guarantees do you want that your service will always be available
- Other features - email addresses, web space, anti-virus protection etc

Availability
- What services can you access on your phone line or do you want a new telephone line installed?

Speed
- How important is internet speed to your business?
- How many users are online all the time as part of their jobs?
- Low speed would be say 256-512kbps, fast 1.5-8Mbps (ADSL1 Plans) and ultra fast over 8Mbps (ADSL2+ Plans)
- The lowest 256kbps broadband is about 5 times faster than a good dialup service
Data quota
- Light data would be say 0.5GB/month, normal 10-30GB/month and heavy 30+GB/month

Excess
- All Highway 1 ADSL1 and ADSL2+ Broadband plans have shaping rather than excess usage as the primary method of managing excess quotas.
- Our Business plans are shaped gracefully over two tiers. Typically to 512k once your primary quota is reached then to 128k once the secondary quota is reached. This means your business will always be able to suf the web and receive email when needed
- Our SOHO plans are shaped to 72k once you reach your download quota
Service Level
